Michigan Youth Workers Association (M.Y.W.A.) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1968 by Orum Trone, Sr., minister of the Elmwood Park Church of Christ located in Detroit. His goal was to establish a ministry that dealt forthrightly and effectively with youth between the ages of 13 and 20, helping them hear and understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. Serving as advocates for youth, the Association has grown from a small cadre of devoted parents and friends to become a strong network of approximately 100 volunteers in over twenty Michigan congregations. In keeping with Brother Trone's goals, the Michigan Chapter provides the following activities: |
